The da Vinci Xi robotic surgery system provides the surgeon with an advanced set of tools to perform minimally invasive robot-assisted surgery. It is not the „robot” that operates, but the surgeon, based on the experience gained, using the tools available to the da Vinci system, which he leads through a console.
The da Vinci system translates in real time the movements of the surgeon’s hand, from the console, on the instruments with which the patient is operated. The robotic system offers superior freedom of movement to the human hand, more precision, as well as a much larger, high-definition, three-dimensional view of the operating field.
