Bucharest 21.06.2024 – The period June 12-15 was marked by an exceptional event in the field of CMF and orthognathic surgery: the National Congress of CMF Surgery and the first Congress of the Transylvanian Society of Orthognathic Surgery. The event, organized under the prestigious leadership of Prof. Simion Bran, Prof. Dr. Baciut Mihaela, Prof. Univ. Emeritus Dr. Grigore BACIUT, Prof. Univ. Emeritus Dr. Alexandru BUCUR, Prof. Dr. Konrad WANGERIN and Prof. Dr. Dinu Cristian, brought together doctors and specialists from all CMF university centers in the country, but also famous names from abroad, to explore the newest trends and innovations in field.
The international event was credited with 24 EMC points for continuing medical education.

Dr. Catalin Dumitru presented the experience of the Maxillo-Facial Surgery Clinic of the Central Military Emergency University Hospital “Dr. Carol Davila” in the treatment of severe dento-maxillary anomalies, offering a detailed perspective on the techniques and results obtained.
- Dr. Adrian Gabara: Total bilateral temporomandibular joint arthroplasty using a patient-specific bi-component prosthesis. Dr. Adrian Gabara captivated the audience with the presentation of a complex case of complete arthroplasty of the bilateral temporomandibular joint, performed in a single stage, using a bi-component prosthesis specific to the patient. This prosthesis, composed of very high molecular weight polyethylene and titanium, was used in the treatment of post-traumatic ankylosis in an adult, demonstrating the effectiveness of customized solutions in surgery.
